MASH Bash 2014

This event has crippled people – never our intent but there are nurses still crawling up and down the stairs here because of all the dancing they did on Saturday! We have nurses forming delegations to ensure that this event occurs TWICE a year.  Some of our regular community partners are demanding that this be an annual event. Well, not sure of any of that but what I am sure of, is that we could not have done this without you. We pulled this together on a wing and many prayers and provided an event that celebrated the anniversary of the hospital and the tremendous spirit that our communities are known for. Well done to you all! And what a blast we had. Sher, so many comments about the food – thank you for being a part of the team! Damian- a compliment for you came from George Ogston – Owner of Gervais Party and Tent Rentals: “What a blast. Where did you get the band from? 29 years of putting on, & attending events I have never seen a band interact like them.” We will leave our Rotary friends some time to organize Ribfest at the end of May and try and convene for a pint and some wings a bit later in June before we all take off for the summer.

I have known New Hollywood for around 20 years, the first time I heard them play I was blown away by their performance, they are a great cover band. They sound very much like the original artists. They also play great dancing/party tunes. Damian has a certain charm with an audience. He really knows how to capture their attention. His brother Dave has a spectacular voice and is amazing hitting those high notes. The rest of the guys in the band connect really well too. New Hollywood just did our Christmas party. I’m in cahrge of organizing it. I’ve never received so many comments about it being the best party over the 10 years at Oriana Financial Group. I believe New Hollywood was responsible for that. The dance floor was packed at all times. They also had a new addition, a woman who adds a nice touch. She’s got an extraordinary voice and really compliments the band. If your looking for a band with pizzaz, great dance music and good party….you can’t go wrong with New Hollywood!

RCYC LYRA Parties

Last night was a marvel. People overflowing the dance floor, some dancing outside the tent. I can’t get “Brown Eyed Girl” out of my head. If we need something again I will contact you. I asked everyone I talked to what they thought of the band and the comments were unanimously favourable. We had good weather, good food and terrific music. I think some people danced to everything you played. The staff were very cooperative. I have found if you treat them fairly, they will bend over backwards to ensure everything works out. Engaging, versatile, in tune with audience (variety of ages). 6 piece band with 2 excellent singers. Careful not to lose momentum that they worked so hard to build (very aware of what tempo and style brought the crowd to their feet). Audience just kept on dancing, eventually spilled off dance floor onto the grass and sidewalks. Connected with the audience, welcomed requests.

Hi Jim, just wanted to tell you how much Chuck and I enjoyed the parties both on Saturday and Sunday. We were thrilled to hear that the band you hired were to play both evenings. New Hollywood is an excellent entertainment band. They can play any music, any artist – we were truly amazed at Damian’s cover of some pretty difficult tunes. I know I should be tired from dancing non stop both evenings, but, if I could find out where those guys are heading next, I am sure I would once again dance the night away. Thanks again for the fun, what great parties!!!! We will definitely recommend the band to others.

Brampton Ribfest

Hi Damian,

I wanted to thank you for your participation in the Rib n Roll. New Hollywood helped to make this years event the best ever. You are truly one of the most versatile bands I have ever seen and you certainly know how to work a crowd into a frenzy. Damian, you are the consummate showman and have incredible presence on the stage! The bands performance was simply awesome. I would like to have New Hollywood back once again next year.
